Renting a Car in Tunisia: The Documents You'll Need

Picking up a rental car takes just a few minutes when everything is ready. Here's what to bring with you on pick-up day.

Your driver's license

The driver must be at least 23 years old and present a valid driver's license held for at least 2 years. If there is an additional driver, they must present their license too.

A form of ID

National ID card or passport: the document must match the name on the reservation. The reservation is made in the main driver's name, and this name cannot be changed afterward.

A credit card for the deposit

The deposit can only be paid by credit card in the main driver's name: cash and checks are not accepted. The account must have a limit of at least 1,000 euros, or more depending on the car category. If you paid online, present the card used for the reservation.

Your reservation and flight number

Keep your reservation number, sent to you by email, close at hand. For an airport pick-up, enter your flight number and arrival time when you book: if your flight is delayed, you get a 2-hour grace period.

Good to know

  • Walk around the vehicle with the agent before you set off: the vehicle's condition and fuel level are recorded on the contract.
  • Return the car within the same time slot as your pick-up to avoid being charged an extra day.
