Djerba is best discovered by car. The beaches of the tourist zone, the narrow streets of Houmt Souk, the pottery workshops of Guellala and the Ghriba synagogue are spread all over the island: with your own car, you can go from one to the next at your own pace.
Your car as soon as you arrive at Djerba-Zarzis airport
Hertz is waiting for you at Djerba-Zarzis International Airport. Book online and enter your flight number and arrival time: the branch will know when to expect you. If your flight is delayed, you get a 2-hour grace period.

Which car for Djerba?
The island's roads are flat and distances are short: a city car is more than enough for a couple or a small family, and it's the most economical option. With children and several suitcases, or to set off and explore the South, an SUV offers more space and comfort.

Leaving the island
Djerba is connected to the mainland by the El Kantara causeway, toward Zarzis, and by the ferry between Ajim and Jorf. From there, Zarzis, Médenine and the ksour of the South are within easy driving distance. You can also return the car to another Hertz branch: one-way rentals are available, and inter-branch fees may apply.

- The driver must be at least 23 years old and have held their license for at least 2 years.
- The deposit can only be paid by credit card in the driver's name.
