Automatic or Manual: Which Is Best for Driving in Tunisia?

At Hertz Tunisia, more than half of our models are available with an automatic transmission, from small city cars to SUVs and sedans. So how do you choose between automatic and manual for your trip?

Why choose an automatic

  • Comfort in town: in Tunis or Sfax traffic, no more working the clutch at every stop.
  • Your habits: if you drive an automatic at home, keep your usual reflexes while on vacation.
  • Less fatigue on long drives.

Why stick with a manual

  • Price: for the same model, the manual version is slightly cheaper.
  • Familiarity: if you drive a manual every day, you'll feel at ease from the very first kilometer.

Our automatic models

Our automatic range goes from city cars (Kia Picanto, Seat Ibiza, Skoda Scala) to SUVs (Skoda Kamiq, Skoda Kushaq, Cupra Formentor) and sedans (Audi A3, Skoda Octavia, Skoda Superb). Models are given as examples: the car you receive will be from the category you booked, or a similar model.

Spot them by the “Automatic transmission” label on each car, or go straight to our automatic car rental page, which shows the “from” price of each model.

Good to know

Choose your transmission when you book: it's the category you booked that is guaranteed. Switching on site depends on which cars are available.
